My Dad

Dad was born on a small farm in Meridian, Mississippi in 1940 where he learned the value of a hard day's work.

Later on, Dad moved to Alabama where he excelled as a member of his High School football team.

In 1962, Dad earned his degree in Archeology from the University of Alabama.

After college, Dad enlisted in the Alabama National Guard, serving in the Special Forces for 6 years.

Dad met my Mom during this time while the two of them were working at Sears in Birmingham, Alabama.

They were married in 1967

Dad & Mom moved to Lexington, Kentucky in 1970 where Dad worked as a Sales Rep for Magic Chef Home Appliances

I entered the picture 3 years later, and shortly thereafter Dad purchased about 20 acres of land outside of Lexington. Growing up on a farm was the best! We raised cattle, corn, horses, and tobacco.

Dad sold our farm in 1987 to Overbrook Farm. Their horse "Grindstone" won the Kentucky Derby in 1996

These days, Dad spends much of his time helping others in need. He has volunteered for a number of projects for Habitat for Humanity and God's Pantry.

Dad's "World Famous" Bourbon Balls is a proud sponsor of The World Hospital Project.

Dad was recently awarded a citation from the Governor of Kentucky for his service.

Dad has even traveled as far as Ghana Africa to help build a church and a well for a needy village.

Here is Dad on a Build in South Dakota.

As you can see, there is no one quite like my Dad!
